The Calendar page is new and the Clock page is new. The Calendar is there to show the birthdays of cousins. The Clock is there because Betty (wife of Ray) is sometimes on the radio and needs a special clock.

Oh My. There is a lot that is new on this website.
The mySql is new, but that is just a tool. The places it is used are the photos, photo chart and reunions pages. The database tool, mySql, allows easier handling of the photos in a collection. Longer captions are possible. Photo number are now connected to each photo for easier identification when a change is wanted in any certian photo.
Reunion history has been posted to the website.
The Descendants List Page has seen continual updates and gets longer and longer necessitating links to the various branches of the family line.
The quarterly newsletter is now available in pdf format, but that is not directly related to the website.

Two new queries were added to that page and a query that was solved was marked that way.

Besides adding some pedigree charts, we have worked on improved the actions on the Alphabetical Name Index page. It is now working more like we wanted originally. But the next trick is to make the computer generate this page with new in the format and with the actions that our testing page has.

Added some pedigree charts, changed the format slightly and linked more pedigree charts together.

Reworked the home page text to be more accurate and informative. Expanded my own pedigree chart extensively. Improved the keywords and descriptions to enhance the search engine results possibly.
[posted 11 Jun 2008 by Ray FLESHER]
Added links on the home page to Larry FLESHER's websites. Also, added navigation links at the top of the Descendants page similar to the links at the bottom of the page.

Fixed the navigation links at the bottom of the Descendants page They now work as expected.
[posted 22 May 2008 by Ray FLESHER]
Added prepared by, powered by, and hosted at details in the footer box at the bottom.

We have added a census page. Now the trick is to figure out how to show various census displays. Also, we need an abbreviated navigation menu across the top to leave the census page. And the page is not listed on the normal navigation sidebar yet.

The administrative link was removed. A description of the FFR newsletter was added. The surnames page went back in. It is generated along with the alpha names page and the descendants page. Behind the scenes, the names of pages with *.evo.html in their names were renamed to straight *.html reflecting the server now at blingblue.com. The java script filename was changed to a simpler name. The directory or folder holding the web pages was changed to ffr.1.0 from w-css. (Version 1.0.14).

More invisible underlying changes. This time to make the page centered in each browser and to line up the right hand side of the title bar and content area in each browser. Also, adjust the pedigree chart margins in each browser.

A new server and domain name became available and we grabbed the opportunity. So, in the near future the website will be found at www.rcflesher.com and actually it is there now but it is not clear which site will get updated the most. The old one is of course www. rcflesher.evodynamic.com.

More people were added to the Descendants Page. That was done by adding more people to the ffrdata.csv file and running the Rexx programs that are embedded in a bat file called ffr2html. A communications page showing my email address in gif format has been created and it is now linked to every page. The script was changed to facilitate this linkage.

Minor tweaks otherwise known as bug fixes were required. The Birth Order Index Page is now made automatically and a Surnames Index Page is made automatically but it is not shown to the audience yet.
[posted 31 Mar 2008 by Ray FLESHER]
The Alpha Names Index and the Descendants List are now created automatically from a data file by a REXX language program. A query was answered and so an archives of queries was started. The newsletters page was removed. We will be working on a subscription system wherein *.pdf files of newsletters will be sent to subscribers. The date of record of latest change was moved to a consolidated location in the javascript file instead of being coded into each separate webpage.

Work is progressing on centering the page. There is a temporary message on the home page that needs to be communicated to the webmaster for control purposes. Also, progress has been made toward the possibility of offering a link to any volume on the newsletters page. The geocities site was changed to be a minimal version of this site. But there is a difference. The geocities site links the names index to the descendants page whereas this site links the names index to individual pedigree pages. I wonder which is preferred. The Surnames page was removed because it seems to have been redundant.

We did some housekeeping on the code.
[posted 21 Mar 2008 by Ray FLESHER]
Besides moving to the evodynamic server, a narrow format was chosen for page layout. We now use Java Script for doing more work on the website page construction. We started work of a clickable list of volumes for the newsletters page.
What is planned for this Web Site in the short term:

Give a brief history to put the original FLESHERs in the context of time and place.
[posted 6 Mar 2008 by Ray FLESHER]
Queries from the previous newsletters will be entered onto the Queries Page.
[posted 6 Mar 2008 by Ray FLESHER]
The Descendants Page may get too long to conveniently scroll through. I will then make links to the starting points of various family lines within the page and remember where a visitor was looking at the list and take them directly there when they arrive at that page the next time they visit it.
What is planned for this Web Site in the long term:
Below is an archives of what was shown as new at one time:

The newsletters are done a new way which will be very much easier to maintain. They also remember which page you were looking at and come back to that spot the next time you visit the newsletters. Also, the Kenneth David BAIR pedigree page was begun.
[posted 7 Mar 2008 by Ray FLESHER]
The data on the Surnames Page was brought in line with the Descendants List Page.
[posted 6 Mar 2008 by Ray FLESHER]
The descendants list page was converted to the new format like the queries and whats new pages. Also, the children of Henry FLESHER, the immigrant, were added to that same page. Two queries regarding one of these children were added to the Queries Page. Several queries were posted from the previous issue of the Redwood newsletter. Also, an icon was added to some of the pages that shows in the browser tab along with the title of the page. A little navigating was added at the bottom of the Descendants List Page.

The main home page was converted to the new format like the queries and whats new pages.
[posted 4 Mar 2008 by Ray FLESHER]
The Queries Page is new. This will contain open queries being worked on. As answers come in from research or from website visitors, then the query will be removed from the open list and shown in the archives area. The date posted and the date answered will be visible.
